Looking for DIY mounting options as I find the helmet / bars perspective very limiting and came across this online

Anyone got anything similar or made anything along the same lines?

    That’d last 5 minutes before I tree’d it!

Have you tried the chest mount? Still has the problem of single-position filming, gets dull fast but it’s a much better option than bars and most of the time it’s better than helmet. Gives a good sensation of riding.

I must admit I did think about the amount of times I clunk my helmet on low branches,I’ve just brought a Go Pro with a chest mount included off a mate as he’s gone full roadie 🙄 and was looking at getting the most out of it so will try the chest mount first

The best thing I ever did was to get a Gorillapod and stick a gopro base to it- a few static shots in a video breaks things up lovely, and being able to do it all with the quick releases means I actually use the thing.

I modified a standard GoPro bracket to fit on the chest strap of a rucksack.

Knew I found something decent on here ages ago…

That has to be one of the best angles IMO. Just don’t take your head off 🙂

I’ve made a similar thing using a small extending paint roller handle from B&Q with a welded end on it that has to different angled heads. Paint roller fitting removed! before someone says it!

For the 3rd person perspective I just pop it into my camel back and do the 2 zips up around it. Its ace!

I’ve also used it zip tied to my stem sticking out in front of me so that its looking back at me, that’s a pretty sweet angle too.
