my lads just got a redeem code for 3 months on his xbox live, but its asking for address too. im always a bit wary of giving personal detais out where they shouldnt be needed.

is he fine to do this, or will would a false address be better?

and does it have to tie in with msn details? im pretty sure when he opened an msn account, i told him just to put 1 high st as his address for anything like that. (we dont live at 1 high st btw ;-))

is there any reason why you should put your real address?

I’d use a false address – is the source of the 3 month code reputable or off some site ?

I heard the ‘trick’ was to solicit enough info from people so they could phone Microsoft xbox live support and convince them that they were the real user, then change password etc and hijack the acount (not sure if there is any financial benefit of this – perhaps if there is a credit card associated to it…but kids might get their kicks out of it).
