    ….ITV 2 tonight 0.25am.

If you haven’t seen it then get it recorded – unless you stay up late on a school night!

    Great film.

Great film. And a good insight into how life was in the 1970’s.

It’s excellent and great for capturing how Newcastle use to look.

Mum and dad went to watch some of the filming down on the Tyne next to the ferry boat. I still remember the old aerial ropeway at Easington (from the final scene) crossing the a19 as it went to dump crap out to sea. Awesome, awesome film.

Don’t buy the soundtrack like I did, expecting to hear lots of funky music. Turned out to be, the ‘soundtrack’, in the most literal sense.

Wasn’t it loosely based on a true story?

Has one of the best lines ever…

Your a big bloke but your out of shape. For me, it’s a full time job.

Truly ace film, & Caine is just perfect for the role.

A good insite into how pubs were too. Proper hard drinking places. Reminds me of some of the places my Dad used to frequent. 😐

Indeed. I always chuckle at the eh ? as he slaps him, too.

A truly classic film. Loved the original soundtrack – captures the era.

Is the TV version still censored?
I had seen it a few times on TV, then bought the DVD a few years ago, and suddenly, some bits of the plot fell into place, as the scenes had been cut for the TV showing.
