  • Garmin Edge 830 Users – Which Maps?

So I jumped on the PSA a month or so ago and picked up an 830 to replace the not so good 820 I had before. I really like it but I’m struggling to find maps that I like.

I’ve so far tried the built in Garmin ones, the OSM that DC Rainmaker links to and the free Talky Toaster ones. None of them seem to easily distinguish, to my eyes, foot paths and bridal ways etc. The maps I had on the 820, which is now gone, showed them as nice obvious dashed lines, like the ‘Cycle Map’ on plotaroute.com.

I’m happy to pay for something but the paid for Talky Toaster ones look a bit busy and his free ones look different to what’s shown on the site and the openmtbmap look like they might be ok but don’t want to spend £20 without seeing some screen shots.

So is there anything else out there, am I doing something wrong or do I need to get the wallet out!
