- Garmin 800 info needed
afternoonPosted 7 years ago
looking at getting a garmin 800,can anyone tell me what the cheapest model includes please map wise or if not at all
is there an option of just the hrm with it to as not going to need the cadence one
any deals out there at the moment does anybody know?
The options are as clear as mud.
Cheap options are usually wiggle, crc or halfords if one of them have an offer on.
I think it is the uk trail bundle that comes with maps but IIRC you cannot get maps, hrm adn cadence in one pack. All Gamrin HRM are compatable so it is really easy to pick one up on ebay. I assume plenty of people buy more than one device, get a hrm with each and then try and sell them on.Posted 7 years ago
not after any of the road maps tbh,is there any maps at all with the cheap one??Posted 7 years ago
Whenever I have checked for deals on the 800, Winstanleys have usually looked about the best price.
not sure i will actually need the trail one(or the maps anyway)Posted 7 years ago
found the basic model for around£280
Just be aware that the 1:50,000 OS map SD card for the UK are £199.99, so if you think you’ll want the maps then it is much cheaper to buy them in the bundle.Posted 7 years ago
You can also use the Basecamp software for route planning if you have the SD card in the unit
is that the one that comes with the trail pack do you know?Posted 7 years ago

I’ve got 500 and an 800 500 keeps going tits up every time it rains hence the 800 left it to long for warranty they’ve offered me fixed price replacement 68 quid which isn’t bad but they are meant to be water proofPosted 7 years ago
