We’ve ditched one of our cars so the garage is now a bike workshop. It’s still a mess but the cupboards and drawers are still emptyish so there’s hope to one day get it properly organised. It’s heated and quite light and airy thanks to the windows.

Our bedroom is directly underneath. The window is 4m above ground level. There’s a big heavy door and a motion activated alarm. Most importantly though, it’s in Switzerland where residential crime is <almost> non-existent.

Possibly better than a new bike!

I think it will last the weekend. The hose still works despite being coiled somewhat haphazardly. The thing that looks like a small vice is a small vice.

I like my workshop…yet I now have workshop envy. Nice set-up. Makes fettling a breeze when everything is to hand.

Very nice! I want to see more workshops/garages please. Mine is being rebuilt at the moment and need some inspiration for the interior 🙂

There’s not much flat building land in Switzerland. It’s common for houses to be built on the side of hills. Garage and some bedrooms at the top, living rooms, kitchen and more bedrooms in the middle and cellar and garden at the bottom.

A strange arrangement if you’re coming from the UK but quite normal here. All that “profiting from other peoples’ crimes” evidently does strange things to our architects…

I’m currently planning my own garage renovation project after buying a place. Quick question….What have you used to lock the bikes to? Is that a rack sunk into the floor? Or are they not locked?

I tidied my garage this weekend, but it’s a million miles away from that, good work op!
