just bought a 4S for my wife. £70 upfront and £21 a month is hardly overpriced.
Assuming a 24 month contract, that comes out at £574. That’s a fair bit of cash to drop on a telephone.
Not that mine was much different, mind, but I’m not kidding myself it’s pocket money either. Baffles me that people will spend nearly 600 quid on a device chosen on the whim of who can shout the loudest on a web forum. I spent months researching what I wanted before I bought it.
Anyway. If nothing else, go to a shop, play with a few devices, see what you do and don’t like. At least then you’ll be making an informed decision rather than a potentially costly mistake.
Also, you’re not ‘due’ an upgrade, you’re eligible for one. It’s not mandatory, much as the phone companies would like you to think so. If there’s nothing you want, don’t buy anything; drop your tariff to a SIM only deal for buttons a month.
