    advice? just don’t! they’re ugly as ****!

with 99.9% of the population carrying mobile phones 24/7 these days it kind of baffles me why anyone ever wears a watch at all.

GW – for mtb riding? I can’t wear my phone on my wrist.

Might just get a cheap £8 watch from Argos though… dripping with retro-chique.

Because maybe people riding their bikes want to quickly check the time by looking at a wristwatch instead hunting through their camelbak and you have to stop as well!

I am looking at a new watch for biking just for this purpose. something cheap & sporty looking so the g-shock looks good for this!

Amazon usually has quite a lot of cheap ones

You’ll be wanting a Casio Terrorist watch for that.

Not sure why these “people riding their bikes” need to know the exact time when it’s usually pretty obvious roughly how long it was since they last looked and makes **** all difference either way. 😕
oh.. and believe it or not camelback wearing MTB enthusiasts only make up a very small proportion of all “people riding their bikes”.

Having broken a number of watches I got one with a tide chart on it (I paddle and used to live on a boat). I thought “right, can’t break this!”.

I scratched the display on a climbing hold (awkard under cling for those curious) after about 5 days like a bell-end 😳

Still works, but reminds me to be careful every time I check the err… time.

If it’s just for the bike, spend £20 on a wireless cycle computer.
Most show the time + other things 🙂

Watch out for fakes on Ebay mind, can be quite hard to spot, but the rare G-Shocks have quite a few fakes about.

Got a local Watch shop to me closing down which still have a few G-Shocks in the sale, got a 7710 with a reverse screen. down from £90 to £45!

Drop me an email if you want their details.

Got one of these Linky on Amazon for £45 a couple of days ago – although I see they are up to £84 today? They were £76 last week – wild fluctuations in price – but I was obviously lucky. So maybe worth keeping an eye on a couple in Amazon and see where prices go.

I have a g shock with radio time set sola power and dual time which fits the bill for me perfectly, a 3rd of the cost of a new crystal for my tag, dual time for when I travel abroad for work and a lot cheaper than risking my iPhone on the bike or in the bag or what ever…. very happy with it and got it in a highstreet jewlers happened to have it 80 quid for 120.

    I would recommend this

I bought mine for £56 about a year ago, no problems with it.

    Solar and radio time.
Never need to set the time or buy new batteries again..

The Solar g-shocks with radio time settings, are a good call by R.lepecha

    Worth looking out for.

I now use all the time a reto looking GW-M5600 with solar and radio time. Cost me less than a new battery for my TAG 😉

I do still hanker after one of their 5600 Military versions mind (no solor or radio option though)

Used to be able to get them for about £50ish

last month so keep an eye out on Amazon.
