    The other thing about ‘real food’ is that it tends to be bulky, or harder to carry and eat, or both.  Gels and bars can be noshed from a jersey pocket whilst riding, if that’s your bag. Of course, if you want to stop and sit whilst having a bite that’s totally fine.
