What is the real world difference between Fox shock tunes?

Just noticed new frame has a ‘F’ tune (Fox RP23).

Old frame had a ‘M’ tune, same shock.

What do the different tunes mean and, how will it effect the bike? If you could explain it as if speaking to a child, i’d be grateful.

Both frames are similar foux bar linkage (M tune was on a Horsethief, new frame is a Bandit with the F tune).

M edium is softer (comp) or faster (rebound) than F ull.

Rebound will have a tune as will compression eg MF

    Thanks LoCo.

Right, so a F tune may well suit a larger rider better?

In theory yes, but there’s various factors involved.
