There’s a bunch of us heading up to watch the World Cup finals on the Sunday. Planning a big natural ride on the Saturday. Had considered doing something incorporating the descent into Kinlochleven on the West Highland Way, but slightly put off by the potential number of walkers to politely avoid. Something a bit more out of the way perhaps?

Suggestions welcome. Pics if you can be bothered.

    Cheers.

Not sure when you are travelling, but….

Advance traffic warning -Torch on road
Forewarned is forearmed, so here’s some news that is important for anyone travelling up the A82 from Glasgow on Saturday 9 June. The Olympic Torch Relay is setting off from Dumbarton around 9.00am, travelling up the A82 to Fort William, arriving at 1.30pm. The Olympic Torch Relay contains over 100 vehicles and it will travel at a maximum of 40mph between stops (no, the runners don’t travel at 40mph).
Anyone heading north after the convoy has set off will face a very slow trip with no chance of overtaking. So, make sure you are past Dumbarton before 09.00 – or consider going up the A9 and across to Spean Bridge from Dalwhinnie.
Most World Cup visitors will be in the Village well before the Torch convoy hits Fort William so will avoid any traffic disruption. Just enjoy the day and let the Torch come and see us, for a photo shoot before the start of the DH qualification.
