Just bought to Formula K18’s to replace my Shimano M445’s.

I will be keeping the same rotors.

Do i need new mounting brackets lads or are they compatible ?

    Cheers.

Should bolt straight on as long as your existing calipers are post mount.

I never know the answer to that..

    It’s a 2011 Giant XTC 29er.

I seem to recall that the K24 (and K18 – they’re the same) calliper piston body sticks out quite a way below the mounting holes and the 160mm formula disk mount is designed to accomodate this. The shimano mounts may not fit.

Mine are all fitted on Shimano mounts (203 and 108 fronts, 160 and 180 rears). Not all Shimano mounts are the same mind.

My K24’s dont fit avid of shimano rear adaptors on a 160 rotor without LOTS of spacing..Just had to lash out £17 on a formula adaptor 😥
