Ive got some cheap steel forks on it at the moment, fancy some lighter carbon ones. Any recommendations? Dont fancy the Genesis forks. I think it requires something with a 45mm rake and a 375mm axle to crwon height.

Controltech lightenings are a good price at crc for a full carbon fork. Light and i find the quality of controltech carbon always good. Quite understated looks wise which might suit a steel frame imo.

I had a look on ebay, I’ll probably have to have another look. Struggling a bit to find them with those dimensions.

Aye, the controltech is 5mm shorter, but 43 offset should balance that. Put a post up on velobuild.com, someone on their may well be able to point you in the direction of a Chinese seller.

    2mm rake/5mm A-C difference? Would you notice?

Not personally, but folk like their numbers. Might drop your bb height by a whole mm…..

    I use these:

but a Deda Black Rain or equivalent from Ribble is half the price and just as good.

I dont know, would it make much of a difference? If so, what?

I’m fairly sensitive to bike setup though.

    Those deda forks look alrite

I doubt it in the extreme.

Do you not need mudguard eyelets on them?

They dont need mudguard eyelets, although it would be nice if they had them.

Out of curiosity, why not the Genesis forks?

The paint work on my frame is shagged. Im going to get it powder coated at some point, I dont know what colour, but its not going to be cherry red (it looks ****)

I dont fancy the genesis forks since I’ll have to repaint them myself as I cant see carbon forks and powder coating working to well.
