  • Fork lowers vibrating under braking??

Im thinking this is a bushing issue?

I was bedding a new set of brakes in and every time i even slightly heavy brake up front the lowers vibrate. This is quite pronounced. I have had this issue on other forks but never to this extent. They were bought from CRC a few months ago so before i ask for anything from them i thought i would ask on here.

They are MRP Coils set at 150mm.

    So many variables!

    wavey brake rotors?

    contaminated brake disks?

    worn rotors?

    As above.

I would try sanding the rotors and bedding the brakes in again. If you have the same rotors front and rear, you could try swapping them. Otherwise, new rotors aren’t that expensive.

Ace thanks all, these are brand new Magura MT7 with new storm rotors. Maybe i didnt give the front the best bed in process this time. Ill sand and give it another go.

    2 or 4 pot?

Are all the pistons moving evenly ad apply equal force on the pads?

IMHE – ‘juddering’ is how I would describe the sensation when bushings are shot, not a vibration.

Vibration I’ve experienced too, usually with one of three main causes:
    1) post mount adaptor, calliper, or disc not bolted on properly (i.e. a tiny bit loose)
    2) contaminated disc/pads
    3) wheel axle/QR/bolt through not nipped up properly

    HTH!

I had this recently and it was play in the headset caused in my case by the head doctor bung working loose. Check your headset and star nut/bung.
After that check for disk warping or contaimination.
Also check brake allignment and that all the pistons are moving freely.
If after all that you’re still getting the vibration then it may be the fork bushings
