TEN fire crews, including Worksop and Retford, were called to a forest fire at Sherwood Pines Forest Park.

An area of trees, grass and undergrowth covering 500m by 600m was damaged by the blaze on Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters were called at about 3.30pm, and spent almost two hours tackling the flames.

They remained at the scene to damp down for a further four hours.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

coming from some1 who got banned of the school bus for 6 months for setting fire to it 😈

Explains all the fire engines hooning around yesterday scaring the sh1t out of us while we were pre-riding!

So does anyone know which area has been affected? Any of the trails?

There was no sign of anything from the race, didn’t see any smoke or anything, which suggests it may not have been that devestating. Don’t really know the area, so couldn’t comment on if trails in a wider area have been affected.
