Anyone know who’s responsible for the signs once they’ve slapped a ‘sold’ or ‘let’ piece on it? Is it the estate agents who take care of them themselves?

I could do with some of the posts but thought I’d best ask rather than rip them out of the ground at midnight…

I’m no Bristol Stick man looking for more obstacles by the way – they’d be for fruit cage uprights on the allotment!

Estate agents. Just give them a bell and say “we’re in, it’s sold, come and collect the sign or I’ll get rid of it msyelf”. Give them three or four days notice to be reasonable

Specialist sign companies are usually used to errect and remove the signs which are re used and the signs recycled to another property.

They’ll be the estate agents propery as they re-use them although we’ve still got ours in the garden. Pop down the bristol wood recycling project behind Temple Meads. They’ll have loads of bits of wood that will do the job for a few quid.

Thanks all, might give them a ring and see if they’ll let me have any. Alternatively Bristol wood recycling project is a good shout…

Most of them will have a clause that says it must stay up for a couple of weeks.

Ours is now in our yard after 4 months though.

Be no good for fruit cage uprights on your allotment anyway you want some nice unsustainable tropical hardwood for that 😉

The signs make rather good sledges or bike bag padding for flights.

That corrugated plastic stuff is ideal for trailquest map boards too.

When we bought our house, the estate agent showing us round said he’d pull out the other estate agents sign that was stuck in the, lawn. While he was doing it, the other estate agent drove past and they got in this big massive argument. That was funny.

Might just cycle around Bristol looking in people’s front gardens – probably loads that have been lying there for months…
