Have seen various methods to run these tubeless, not keen on the faff with the split tube method. I’m planning on trying WTB 50mm tubeless tape over the surly woven rim straps.
Is there an easier fool proof method?

In my experience, it’s difficult to ensure a good seal at the valve with single wall rims. If you don’t want to go the split tube or Fatty Stripper route, then use Super P-Nuts.

Split tube isn’t that much of a faff when you consider that, they’ll seal the rim first time. Unlike my pathetic tape attempts.

I use Surly rim strips and fatty strippers. I use the fatty strippers on all my plus and fatbikes as they’re just easy.

I did mine with some yellow tape, no problem. The real difficulty was getting the tire inflated, it took a compressor and 3 bike mechanics!

Yes I’ve bought the yellow tape and a set of those super p nuts mentioned earlier. Just need to find a cycle shop with a compressor locally.

Split inner tube is the way.

That’s a fantastic set of reference pics. Will definitely be using them if the wtb tubeless tape fails. 👍

Top tip on the super p nuts, just ordered two pairs for mine.

I’ve always run rim strips and tape with few issues.
