I had half a tin of beans left over from tea last night and, as we’ll not be eating at home until Sunday, thought I should try and make use of them. At the minute I’m making cheese salads for my lunch, which are tasty and I’ve been really enjoying them, but I thought what the heck – it’s a Friday, live a little. So mushroom, tomato, peas, green beans, cubes of double gloucester and shreds of lettuce with half a tin of beans – opened up my lunchbox with not a little trepidation, and it was fantastic, deffo be trying that again.

Any other suggestions for foods that might not immediately seem to be compatable that you’ve found work well together?
