Actually you can, somebody worked out a formula and proved it could easily be done if the paper was thin, long and narrow. Pretty sure a kid folded a very long bit of single ply toilet paper more than 7 times.

But, this was about tits wasn’t it?!

Yeah, 12 times using toilet paper I believe. The things you learn on QI….

If it were possible to fold the paper on itself 42 times (it may be 43, 44, 45 – it’s there or thereabouts) the overall thickness of the folded paper would stretch from the Earth to the Moon!

    That’s a useful site – currently learning how to fold a t-shirt:

I theorised when I was in college that there was no upper limit to how many times you can fold. For any given piece of paper that you can fold n times, if you started with a piece that was half as thick and twice as large, you could fold it in half once and end up in the same position, and hence be able to fold n+1 times.

Tried it out with a massive (15ft square) piece of tissue paper and got like 12 times.

I really am a genius.. what I am doing wasting my life in this stupid job? The problem is, most people don’t believe in my genius…
