Do we have and folding bike riders lurking?

I’m considering borrowing a small wheel (20″ I think?) folder off a friend for a short break. Realistically how many miles can you cover in relative comfort?

Anything I need to know about them that ain’t obvious?

    Cheers

I was Cape Wrath once and there were two cyclists who’d just cycled from Cornwall. One was on a Brompton.

This is one of those “how long is a piece of string” questions – folding bikes vary a lot. Some 20″ folders are built for city riding, some (like the New World Tourist) are for long-distance touring.

Funnily enough I took my 20″ Dahon out for a spin yesterday.
Pleasant enough ride – very upright position which make a nice change – felt more inclined to look at my surroundings, rather than ‘death stare’ straight ahead!
Also handles like a paranoid twitchy thing….
But…. by golly gosh it’s like riding a wet noodle!
Didn’t dare stand up and give it some beans for fear of bending the bars and snapping the pedals!!

Gears are a novelty too….(I ride fixed on road normally…)
