Anyone else find riding on flat bars somewhat uncomfortable? I just set up my HT will flat bars and bar ends for some racing and went out for a wee spin. Bloody hands started hurting almost instantly. What am I doing wrong?

    Cheers

Nope, if anything it could go higher.

Maybe just a diferent position to what you’re used too. I’ve recently built up a flat barred hardtail – first couple of rides there was a little discomfort but nothing now.

I second timdrayton. Mind you, if you’re not bothered about the integrated bar ends, Spesh do a practically identical product for much less money.

I’ve experienced something similar since fitting very low rise bars, a shooting pain at the outside of my wrists especially after the descents. I had an inch and a half rise on before and they seemed to dissipate the shock much better……hmmmm.

Do you think a better quality flat bar would make a difference? I’m currently using a cheap Specialized one that cam off an old bike.

Or is that just a case of a fool and his money… 😉
