Thanks in no small part to bigdaddy off here this is what I’ll be using.

Bomb proof zondas, comfy saddle, wing bars for comfort on the cobbles, slightly longer wheel base frame for stability. Don’t really want to use a compact but it helped last year on some of the crowded climbs to twiddle my way through the bodies and not lose momentum.

Not bothered about the bottle cages as I put my bottle in my jacket pocket when we hit the cobbles. Seen too many cages ripped off to chance it.

Fair enough, saw a fair few bottles fall in flanders year before last. Jacket pocket is a sensible choice to stash it.

    *I confess*

A couple of years ago I partook of the ‘Ronde’ the classic route, before they ruined it. I digress, I was on a full carbon road bike but used more than a few full bouncer chaps for shelter, unashamedly not spelling them.

Apart from the Kapelmuur, thats the thing that stood out for me the most.

The boys on the full sus mtbs doing the route, kudos indeed.
