epicycloFull MemberGreat thread. I like seeing where people take their bikes.
Reminds us why we’re here.
Shame there’s no like button.
sirromjFull MemberApril, went through a phase of riding on beach rock when the tide was out on commutes home.
July, didn’t get out to as many group rides as I hope this year, this was from Folkestone
August, scorching hot holiday in the centre of France, plotting gravel/xc routes and seeing what I could find:
September, doorstep ride with my boy on the wee ride seat.
November, bought my first street trials bike, hoping early 40’s not too late to learn.
slackboyFull MemberSnowy start to the year:
Riding in Sapa, Vietnam
Wet & Wild New Forest
Best weekend of the year at Black Sail YHA
Messing about with retrobikes
Good year all round, really.
montgomeryFree MemberThe winter project: one overnight camp or bivi a week, every week.
April: a chilly visit to the summit of Helvellyn.
Lots of hit’n’run overnighters to Exmoor and the Quantocks.
Bothy nights.
Autumn: moving back north and rediscovering routes I haven’t done for over a decade.
stewartcFree MemberGiven up hope of posting so apologizes for the links!!!
Started of the year right with a trip to Rotorua, great trails, empty bike parks and even a copter ride.
Started doing a little more competitive stuff locally as more events are now getting organized, this was a little DH race at Tai Mo Shan (Tin Man).
Been a tough year for everyone injury wise this year, here I had to get Sonny out of one of the local Lantau trails after he popped his shoulder 🙁
Lucky enough to catch up with an old biking buddy who had moved to Melbourne and ride the Youyangs a couple of times in October.
Finally popped my Enduro cherry last month, the International Chiang Mai Enduro, good fun and will look to do a few more of the Asian Enduro Series next year.
hairyscaryFull MemberA cold start to the year and a broken car meant commuting in this.
Sat at the top of my current favourite trail….Heartbreak ridge near Ballater.
Frustration that much of the summer was wasted due to this.
Going for a bike ride with my brother for the first time in about 20 years. He thoroughly enjoyed Glenlivet and Aberdeenshire.
Biggest trip was a solo one to Pila and La Thuille.

Then fleeing to NZ for some winter sun – looking down the Ben Lomond ridgeline at Queenstown
Spring Beinn a’ Ghlo trip across the tops, stunner.
An unreal summer spent on evening rides like this
An 8 munro epic in the cairngorms on my own. Ride of the year.
Many more to choose from but think they progress through the year nicely!

Went to Orkney in a campervan as a 30th birthday treat and loved it – all the ancient stuff was right up our street.
DSC_7668 by lukegoestoaustralia, on Flickr
Continuing the theme of cold holidays, we also went to Iceland in June which was like nothing else.
IMG_20180615_180356_721 by lukegoestoaustralia, on Flickr
Then in July some pals and I cycled from Finland to Poland, via lots of wild swimming, a trance music festival, eating pigs ear, sketchy Soviet toilets, horrendous washboarded gravel roads, a live military shooting range and some brexit negotiations, so that I could say I’d visited 30 countries before my 30th birthday.

And finally, after seven years of wanting to do it, finally moved back to Edinburgh.
