I have a head like a builders bucket, 90% of my sweat/heat is lost via my head, i have no hair (think uncle fester with stubble), i feel the cold (old git) and me lugs (ears) get cold.

So i have tried all sorts of beanies (all too tight/small and overheat?)

So i need an XL breathable beanie…

Suggestions please.

A merino wool buff does the job for me.

I had an Endura baabaa one which was ace. I lost it in the under-stair cupboard of despair…..never to be seen again. 🙁

Get an old t-shirt, cut the sleeve off where it joins the body – keeps your ears warm, let’s the heat out and keeps your hair out your eyes (I haven’t needed the last part for quite some time!)

A buff is not a hat whilst under a helmet is ojay it makes you looks like a knob walking round with a bandana on.

Get someone to knit you one.

Best I’ve owned is a TNF A5 beanie, was a light knitted style so nice and loose round your head (most others I find are too tight and give me a headache) and a lightish weave so not too warm (most others I find too warm unless it’s very cold).

I reckon this is the answer. Real wool. I’ve got an old Fox one made of wool and its lovely, sounds perfect for ommtb, but I’m not parting with it!
