Selling a property in Scotland and was originally supposed to have completed this week at the insistence of buyer who originally claimed to have sold their house and were effectively a ‘cash’ buyer. Turns out that their buyers are utilising the First Home scheme and we are now looking more like end November as there are limited ‘windows’ when the FHS pays out. Is this normal?

I have checked the FHS website and there only appears to be maximum time limits for approval to completion, so any experiences would be helpful to put my mind at rest.

We only found this out last week after chasing our solicitor who was blissfully unaware of this, as was our buyers it seems, and we had everything arranged for the move, including renting a property for a month to accommodate the buyers insistence on an October moving date as our new property was not going to be available. I’m not overjoyed at this as you can imagine!
