I did use a phrase one of you posted in this thread “at him” and I could see in his face, just for a split second mind, that he almost lost it.

You threatened to hammer frozen sausages in to his dog didn’t you?

while the threats to hammer his sausage into their frozen dog’s bum are a comedy frontrunner, I reckon it has to be the Twain quote that momentarily lit the blue touchpaper.

putting up a ‘proper’ fence in place of a wire fence with driven stake supports will always involve digging and placing concrete over your side of the boundary,

Lots of useful advice on this thread, except for that. Why on earth will it always involve using your land. He could have bolted post supports on to his block wall.

TBH, I am very glad this is resolved, it was giving me anxiety by proxy.

Agreed, or asked to split the boundary with a shared foundation, but even then you can refuse.
Note – I would be treating the centre of the existing block wall as the boundary.

OP, offer a mutual party wall agreement. Cheap from internet or lawyer. 100 quid and get it all agreed.

Did he admit to being wrong and employ the Edinburgh de-fence?

I like a nice pun as much as the next person, but a boundary has to be drawn somewhere.

I suppose hammering frozen sausage into a dog’s bum could be described as “ring fencing”

    What a let-down; huge build-up and then…phuuut.

Poops, I really thought you were better than this.

Didn’t poopscoop say he as an ex copper? I reckon he sent his mates round to poopscoops with a jumped up search warrant and poor old poops is currently in the clink getting a cavity search. How long can he be held without charge? 24 hrs?  He will be back posting tomorrow on his release and by that time the fence will be back up.

Sorry only time for a quick update.

The fence reappeared today! Again, I only noticed from looking out the bedroom window and doing a double take.lol When I last looked last night it was neatly piled up in their garden. By morning the fence fairies has been!

It was put back up either just before dawn or just after daybreak. I’m not kidding.

There have been some modifications to it though…

What is his answer to the question “why are you repeatedly trying to build your fence in my garden?”

Wait, so you had words with this guy and he took the new fence down and then he put it up again overnight? Sweet jésus, that guy needs a serious talking to!

Can you take it down in such a way that he can’t put it back up? Or maybe hire someone to do the moving and then charge him?
