Not quite the same as selling a commercial product, though, pretty much the same as Soundgarden being used as a movie end-title theme. I have no issues with film and TV theme use, but I’m definitely uncomfortable with the likes of Gang Of Four being used for a crappy Microsoft ad. I don’t begrudge bands that I like getting a big payday by letting their songs get used on TV adverts for innocuous products.
Moby on the other hand, can **** right off.
