As title really – anything recommended? I run skinny grips for my feeble child claws, but my dad has big man hands and complains about hand pain when riding (my bike) so I thought I’d get home something meatier…

I’ve found Torc1 Defy lock ons do the job for me. Nice and chunky.

ODI Rouge or Oury’s are both big n squishy. I have small hands but like a bigger grip.

I like the race face strafes better than ODI rouge or oury’s. The ourys are ruined by the knurled bit of the grip pattern IMO. I had the odi rouge grips on all my bikes, but will replace them after trying the race face.

ESI extra chunky, far more comfortable than any lock-on type grip.

Cheers for the offer sssimon but it’s a birthday present (along with the beer, port and cheese, obviously) so I’d quite like to get him something new. I will have a look and get something ordered, thanks all!

Specialised Enduro XL – I love them to bits – I don’t have massive hands but prefer big grips and they are perfect IMHO.

+1 for Lizard Skins North Shore. Big, grippy, the right amount of squish.

I’ve got hands like a baboon, and Lizard Skins Northshore are great for those of us with comedy shovel-hands

I like the ODI rogue, not really got on with any grips until them, I always wear gloves though, might be to squishy/soft without?

Superstar Excel are big and comfy but not very hard wearing. ODI Rogues are just as comfy, twice the price but will last more than twice as long. Lizard skins northshore are slightly firmer than the above, ok if that’s what he would prefer. Can’t get on with Raceface Strafes myself, I don’t like the feel of the big spaces between the cut-outs.

Used to use superstar excel which were good, but in an effort to save weight I now use esi extra chunky. Very impressed with them. Grippy and comfy and light!

I like a phat girth…Race Face Good n Evil for me.
Not lock-on but mega comfy – just did a week in Morzine with thin non-padded gloves with no probs.
    A tenner at most places…recommended.

Ta all, I’ve gone with some Lizard Skins North Shores. I’ll let you know how he gets on!

Spesh Enduro. Added advantage rubber ends so you can lean the bike up against walls without it slipping of and scratching.
