I changed from Minions to Reckon and Ikon 2.6s last week and took them round the Staveley passes at the weekend. Definitely rolled much faster, and no issues with grip when I needed it. BUT then it was über bone dry.
I have Ikons on my Anthem. They are unbelievably fast on road (17.1mph measured average over 35km) but absolutely useless for grip in anything muddy. I love them, but am well aware they are ludicrously bad in the wrong conditions.
Be interesting to see how the 2.6 Reckon/Ikon combo works after this rain.
PS, they are 400g lighter than the Minions in total, which is a fair chunk IMHO
PSS, I imagine puncture protection will be a bit crap as a consequence. We’ll see.
