After a external BB for a XT HTII crankset.

CRC have some RF Xtypes at 19.95.

But superstar also have a comparative product at 19.95

Which should I get or should I opt for something more expensive, i.e. Hope.

Are there any out there wih replaceable bearings?

Those Superstar Component ones are supposed to be really good.

They last around 6-10 rides before they fail and the warranty is useless on them.
Using acros on at the moment and that is lasting well.

on the plus side the ssc cups are designed so you can easily drift the bearings out so when they do go (and IME about 4 rides) they’re easy to replace

I only showed mine the vice and a socket on Friday and the bearings jumped out. 😯

Just popped the crankset off and seems that most of the play is coming from the shaft, as it is seriously worn on both the drive & non-drive side, right where the bearings sit.

5 years old so can’t complain.

I assume that pressing in a new shaft is not an option?

Going to get a Square Taper cranskset as a replacement.
