    If a carpet is £35 per square yard – how much is it per square metre?

    Cheers

    Neal – obviously you’ve done what we didnt do the first time and multiplied 35 by 1.196, but 1 squared yard = 0.836 squared meters so surely £35 per square yard is £29.26 per square meter (35 x 0.836)? Totally confused and heads about to explode!

    Is a metre bigger than a yard, also is the price per cm the same when buying yards rather than metres?

    Who knows, but John got the train at 3-30

    1m = 1.09361 yards

    meter= 3’3″ =39″
    yard = 3′ = 36″

    35/sq yard = 35/(36*36) per square inch
    square metre =39*39 square inches = £41.08

    Is a meter and a metre the same thing?

    Does one do my electricity and one my spanking stick?

    Stupid school.

    using your conversion

    1m = 1.09361 yards

    1 sqM = 1.196 sqYd

    need to do 35*1.196

    That would be 35 / 0.836 which is still £41.86

    Would it be rude to have all three in the one glass?

    Yes it bloody would.

    We could do it like Jaegerbombs though, the malt equivalent of a 3 bird roast.

    Mortlach(18yo) in a long glass, then the Lagavuilin (16yo) in a shot then an Oban(14) in a test-tube.

    Pretty fitting as that seems to be where most of the population comes from.
    *ooooooooh*
    Bad hijack, sorry.

    Only when kicking stuff, or falling over looking for penalties, I think.

    For me:

    Baw hairs upto a millimetre.
    Millimetres upto an inch.
    Inches to a foot
    Feet to a couple of metres
    Meters to a mile
    Miles
    Then yonks past yonder.

    its probably totally irrelevant – IME you don’t buy carpet by sq m or sq yds you buy a length at a fixed width.
