Hi. We, TVMTB are setting up a long distance event following the Sandstone Way over the weekend of 20th to 21st June. Planning is well under way, however I am having difficulty finding a reliable electronic system for checking participants through the feed stations (we don’t want to loose anyone). I am sure some of you out there know of or work for someone who could sort us out with a system.

Please reply to my email which is in my profile.

    Thanks

Sportidend? Used in fell races, orienteering and trailquests. Not sure of the cost.

    We used Sportsident at HTN.

Good but you need big numbers to make it cost effective.

For that type of event, SportIdent is the best option if you want electronic timing/check points.

I don’t even know of any other alternatives in the UK, as SI stuff is easy to use, works well, and is actually pretty cheap to hire in comparison to other systems.
