EUROVISION SEMIS on BBC 4, tonight, Tuesday at 20.00
SEMI FINALS, that is, a true festival of alternative song and dance, and quite witty, chat from Scott Mills etc.Posted 3 years ago
Probably more fun to watch than the finals, as the utterly shit entrants are the best ones.Posted 3 years ago
I’d rather shit a pineapple.Posted 3 years ago
Given the continuing apartheid in Israel I’ll be giving Eurovision a miss this year thanks.
Perhaps if PW Botha’s South Africa had taken part in Eurovision a bit of glittery pop would have disguised their apartheid too?
And yes, I am great fun at parties.Posted 3 years ago
man with no socks or shoes, on now, hoping to win to be able to afford some, poor song choice thoughPosted 3 years ago
What sooty said.
“We know too well that our freedom is incomplete without the freedom of the Palestinians.” Nelson Mandela
But please remember that Jews were at the very forefront of the struggle against apartheid in South Africa, as they are indeed today against apartheid in Palestine.Posted 3 years ago
No fun watching it now that El Tel no longer supplies the running commentary.Posted 3 years ago
Excellent staging and some different commentry from Scott Mills and the other chap, some real crap songs and a few that may well win something.
Next episode on thursday nightPosted 3 years ago
I’m cheering for Norway and Iceland after the semis. British bloke has a good voice, OK song, but I’m sure that’ll be irrelevant.Posted 3 years ago
i’m looking forward to watching the finals.Posted 3 years ago
Saw Tuesday, missed last nights, will be watching on Saturday
No fun watching it now that El Tel no longer supplies the running commentary.
Oh contraire, Graham Norton is very good, as are Scott Mills and Wotsit Plasticface.
I hope somewhere less controversial wins this time, it’s been a while since we’ve done a Eurovision European city break. Saw the semis in Dusseldorf and Malmo, it were brill 🙂Posted 3 years ago
Anyone else watching? Malta catchy, but Albania a bit of a dirge & has already run out of lyrics.Posted 3 years ago
I actually didn’t hate albania….. had an evanescence feel to it? But Czech republic…. oh sweet lord that was so bad.Posted 3 years ago
Lost interest when Romania failed to qualify.Posted 3 years ago
Loved the German entry, they couldn’t sing for toffee but it was a good song.
What the hell was that friend of a friend guff?Posted 3 years ago
Was odd – singer affected a bit of a geezer accent and felt a bit Johnny hates Jazz.
Nice staging for the Russian entry, but the song quite forgettable.
Oh JPG! I miss Eurotrash.Posted 3 years ago
Wow! The singing dentist is like half Right Said Fred, half Leonard Cohen.Posted 3 years ago
Russia was very good, great vice, and not bad song.Posted 3 years ago
Slovenia…. i’m calling pound shop, the XX.
And Sweden trotted out Chris Kamara.Posted 3 years ago
San Marino so far.
But it’s all a bit low key this year…
Which is probably because Israel isn’t Europe so the whole thing is even more of a farce than normalPosted 3 years ago
I always enjoy the Greek entryPosted 3 years ago
Ouch! Florence and the adenoids.Posted 3 years ago
It’s game of thrones the musicalPosted 3 years ago
Norway’s was a banger.
Cyrpus has had the best outfit so far.Posted 3 years ago
Is that george Dawes backing for Norway!!
Here we go…. our entry…. nil points.Posted 3 years ago
Brit for the winPosted 3 years ago
Borat was good for IsraelPosted 3 years ago
So far, Norway the winner, but I favour Jean Luc Picard from Sam Marino, due to the meaningless so perfectly Eurovision “na na na” title.Posted 3 years ago
Iceland for the win! Hate *will* prevailPosted 3 years ago
Estonia’s got some great cheese right there. That’s the spirit.Posted 3 years ago
Iceland with a hint of Einstürzende Neubauten?Posted 3 years ago
Thighs on this Belarus lady! Blimey.Posted 3 years ago
Norway, Azerbaijan, UK all been good. Iceland FTW. France utterly dreadful.Posted 3 years ago
Norway gets my vote so far.Posted 3 years ago
I thought France was quite good. Better than expected.Posted 3 years ago
my moneys on Azerbaijan so far…. although Russia will most likely take it on the block vote and the fairly slick production,
Australia…..Kate Bush on a stick.Posted 3 years ago
I reckon Australia have just hit peak Eurovision with springy Kate BushPosted 3 years ago
Netherlands was also good. Wouldn’t be amazed by the Aussies winning though! France still ballwank too.
Generally a pretty good year!Posted 3 years ago
well Madonna looks ridiculous.Posted 3 years ago
…. me Madonna would come last if she was competing in this years Eurovision… it’s bloody awful. Even had a wardrobe fail due to he wearing a load of chain mail and an eye patch… wtf.Posted 3 years ago
