Hope someone can explain this to me in easy words I can understand as I am looking at replacing the forks on my Cube AMS 125, likely secondhand.

But I am not sure what forks will fit. The bike has a big headtube but is fitted with a 1 1/8 fork using an FSA Orbit Z semi-intergrated 55mm headset.

55mm is 2.16 inches which doesn’t seem to match anything I can see.

What headset/steerer combinations are useable or am I stuck with only 1 1/8 steerer forks?

Been looking at that link but I still can’t work it out, the only one near 55mm is the Scott/Lapierre one and it’s not that.

Might have to open it up and measure it, see what I can come up with.

Not pulled the forks to measure but have been googling a bit.

    Result – even more confused.

Don’t want to buy a set of tapered forks then find they don’t fit.

Anything on the Cube website? If not perhaps e-mail them?

bikeneil – that’s narrowed it down a bit.

bigyinn – Cube site not that informative as its an old bike but I have got the original catalogue which says it’s a 55mm headset (that’s the bit that confuses me)

With the info from here and a bit of headtube measuring I should be fine.

    Thanks fellas.
