Whatever your political persuasion I would nominate Emily for a bonus today,
seemingly endless roughing up by media all day and keeping composure.
Would definitely nominate for brexit negotiations.

I thought she did well on Eddie Mair this evening.
A breath of fresh air for the Labour party – definite future leader material.

Jesus, did he ask stupid questions or what? I see STWers jerking themselves off about him like he’s a national treasure or something – no idea why after that today.

Was that her on R4 PM today?

I like the fact she just answered ‘I don’t know that detail’ a couple of times, rather than get drawn into some argument or other.

She ran rings around that apartheid loving slimeball Fallon on Marr too

Interesting. I live in her constituency and fully expect her to be unseated by the Lib Dems.

I must seek out her interview with Eddie as there is no doubt she’s smart, but her countenance is a bit off putting to me (and the other islingtonites disgusted by Brexit and not fortunate enough to have been born with a silver spoon rammed in our arses).

And lest we forget, she was behind the white van man tweet, which she was predictably lambasted for.

I liked that too – almost put Mair off his stroke

+1 He’s in danger of believing his own press.

Deserves praise for that. Rather than flustering and bluffing, or getting a lackey to Google it and hand her the details (admittedly only a viable tactic on radio, and then only partially viable). Far better to say you don’t know.

I caught the PM interview aswell and I think he was being a ****. Internet speeds FFS! Its become a sport to try and catch out Labour bods on figures.

She is a typical disconnected politician who you would not want as a landlord

    And no, she never sued

Is it just me that really can’t stand her then?! Always comes across as very arrogant whenever I see her being interviewed. I’d never vote for them, think it’s her and Abbott that are the biggest turn off for me. Don’t agree with most of what Corbyns says but at least he seems a decent enough bloke.

Her follow up to the picture above didn’t exactly help.,

It was a house covered in British flags. I’ve never seen anything like it before. It had three huge flags covering the whole house. I thought it was remarkable. I’ve never seen a house completely covered in flags.

Well, apart from it not being completely covered, is she seriously saying she’s never seen flags on houses around the time of football tournaments?

Then there’s the issue of her vexillological ignorance.

Not just you, I’ve never liked her.

Don’t we mean Lady Nugee wife of Sir Christopher ex Radley College and Corpus Christie ? CFH I imagine she doesn’t have houses with flags around where she lives or socialises

If people think she is Labour’s great hope you really are in dire straights.

She’s got flashy defending St. George flag strewn houses and jambalaya doing a bit of inverse snobbery and posting clips of Mummy. Must be doing something right.

Complete hypocrite just like Abbott. What’s good for their children isn’t right for the plebs.

She doesn’t know the difference between an English flag and a “British” flag.

She doesn’t know what “huge” means.

She doesn’t know what “completely covered” means.

How do these halfwits pass the bar exams?

I could be wrong, maybe jambs and cfh, live next door to this guy, maybe this is their house*! 😉

    * I’m not saying that they are cohabiting, but it could make for an interesting sitcom- actually I think Ernie & Ninfan would be the best double act

Oh has England left Britain now? Saves everyone else the hassle I suppose.

Given the recent attitudes on this forum directed toward those that had a flagpole in their garden, I’d fully expect that Emily Thornberry would be a champion around these parts.

When you live your comfy life in Islington, and never leave then it’s probably true that she’s never seen a flag on a house.

Which makes me think, maybe as part of your induction as an MP (no matter what your party), you should be forced to do a tour of the good and bad parts of the UK, so you have a vague understanding of others.

trust me you can walk a few 100 metres away from the nice bits of islington to find yourself in a very different world,
many a time the night bus only got me to finsbury park or holloway road and I had to walk back to harringay ,
    – cant say I saw many flags, too busy trying not to get mugged and/or eat a kebab of instant regret

Straight talker and sincere. She’s good.

Come-on all those maybotians looking to slip her up, even your imperial leader said she wanted to eradicate tourism instead of terrorism.

Didn’t see a five page thread about that.

Lots of good Labour lasses actually.

After seeing Maybot choke up when confronted by the woman whos life had been turned upside down by the Disability Living Allowance cuts you can understand why she wont do any leadership debates

She is doing Question Time, but only on the conditions that the questions from the audience are submitted in advance!?!

@kimbers as that photo is Solent news agency I imagine CFH and especially I aren’t a million miles away.

TBH I have stopped following the election coverage, its a non-contest.
