Right I’ve decided I’m gonna play the drums again after a 20 year absence. There is no way I’m gonna use an acoustic kit as I’ve got bad memories from people complaining about the noise. It doesn’t need to be anything fancy just something to get back into it.
Budget is about £400 so a pretty basic one is all I can afford ,are the new Roland budget ones any good or am I better off with something else.
    Any advice appreciated ta

For £400 you’ll probably be looking at an Alesis kit. Try before you buy, as always, and aim for mesh heads if you can – a much more natural feel than playing bricks.
Be warned – no matter how quiet your amp is, your kick pedal WILL thump through the floor

I’ve noticed the new Roland ones just have a foot pedal with no striker so presumably no noise. Great I off to Newcastle drum centre this morning for a bash , this should be fun
