    sometimes the previous tennant will have run up a bill and the landlord agreed for the elecy supplier to run the meter faster to pay off the debt

    That can’t be right surely ???

    Happened with some neighbours,old tennant moved out owing arreas, new tennant moved in and the meter was going mad eating meter token keys.The electric supplier wouldnt accept over the phone they where new tennants and wouldnt do anything to sort it out.
