I have a dewalt drill-driver but moving house in a few weeks and will need to build a metric shitton of furniture and screw flatpack stuff together.
The dewalt is very good but a bit big and heavy for doing this all day.

Are there any cordless screwdrivers like the mini Bosch that are any good?

The Bosch GDR 10.8v impact driver is perfect for what you want to do.

Guy at work’s got a Bosch IXO and it’s ace, I’m tempted to get one myself.

He reckons the torque head is a must-have for it, though. There’s all manner of other toys you can get for it – spice mill, anyone?

Ooh, can you still get those? They used to fascinate me as a kid.

I have a vintage Yankee driver. Absolutely **** useless for most things, especially tight spaces.
Is that Bosch really any good? I always thought they were basically a toy.

They will not screw a 120mm screw into oak but good for flat packs I would have though. Some guys at work use them for things like panel building, assembling small fixtures etc.

Ok, so I could potentially screw with this and then finish off my hand – fnarrrr 🙂
Could be a plan, and they’re nice and cheap.

I have the Bosch IXO with the extras. Brilliant for flat pack stuff with the offset driver and right Nile driver.

Bosch IXO is indeed ace for most household jobs. Surprisingly torquey so the adjustable torque-limiting head is a good idea for anything delicate.

If it’s for putting screwx into predrilled holes they work fine.

You’re in look for cheap but good tools.
