    Had a bonzer idea.

How about we double the number of elected representatives by giving them much smaller electorates?

This will eliminate some of the problems of imbalance caused by unwieldy electorates such as the islands.

Then we’ll need a new HoP to house them. This can be built cheaply in a location in the North of England where property is inexpensive and more central to the geographical centre of the UK.

I’m sure Donald Trump would be quick to snap up the old building for a casino. I’m sure he’d have Big Donald pealing quicker than 4 years.

And we can fund this by demolishing the House of Lords and putting that collection of parasites and paedos to Mme Guilotine pasture.

    🙂

How strange. Threads are automagically locked if there’s been no activity in a year and yet this one is now onto it’s second year. It’s almost like a Moderator unlocked it specially.

Not sure if it’s already been mentioned, but (I think) the numbers used are based on registered voters rather than population. Better off areas tend to have a higher rate of voter registration, which might go some way toward explaining why Tory MPs seem to represent more people than Labour MPs?

    Holy Thread Resurrection Batman

Interesting piece on R4 Today his morning. How they took 25,000 submissions from the public on boundaries so they did much more than just look at voter registration numbers.

Proposals seem to make sense to me 🙂

    That’s my understanding too.

If you had been the mod on duty this morning when I asked for it to be unlocked, that’s what very well might have happened. Ahem….
