El Guapo/BFe as an all rounder? . . .
My BFe is a wonderful bike and if I was forced it would be the last I got rid of. Its the most fun bike I have ever ridden. The talas will suit it, I use the u-turn on mine a lot. I keep meaning to put my Lyriks on it just for a laugh but haven’t got round trip to it but I suspect that it will be amazing on a rough dh.Posted 4 years ago
I have come to realise that I only have the space for one bike and it will never be a £4000 uberbike.
I currently ride a 2008 Rockhopper and am looking to upgrade to something more capable, especially in regards to descending.
My riding is mainly Lakes based, but Hamsterly and local woods around Durham make do when time is short.
My bike needs to do my commute as well but seeing as it is under 4 miles, I guess I can do it on anything . . .
I have around £800 to spend on a frame. I already have a set of 2012 Fox 36 RLC TALAS, a pair of flows on pro2 evos and seatpost, bars and stem to use in the build.
I noticed that the EG with monarch is back in stock, and it is quite tempting. However would I be less ‘overbiked’ with a BFe when it comes to the commute and local blasts?Posted 4 years ago
My main goal is to have a riot on Lakeland rides, but the other factors are always at the back of my mind.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

What Fs do you have? What way does it do what your BFe can’t?
If that was aimed at me then I have an 06 Specialized Enduro. And it is smoother over really rough stuff so takes less of a toll on your body. Plus at the moment it means I can ride rough trails with my knackered ankle which I can’t on my BFe.Posted 4 years agob45herMember
enough with the “overbiked” crap if you want a frame that can truly do everything get the el guapo, if you want to be in with the cool kids get the bfe you can rattle down the rough stuff beating the shit out of your body safe in the knowledge that your a super awesome trail bad-ass 🙄Posted 4 years agoDufferMember

Better still, you could sit on the sofa and eat pringles while watching Geordie Shore! You’d never have to worry about “beating the shit out of your body” or punctuation again!
I don’t know about you, but i ride because i enjoy it. If i’m riding on rocks, i want to be bashed around! There’s no point riding if you’re going to make everything flat. If push came to shove, i’d keep my HT and sell the FS. This is, of course, opinion only.
To the OP – buy a 456 😉Posted 4 years ago
