Not sure whether I should ask this here or Mumsnet or somewhere…

Put some eggs on to boil earlier, went to sit in the garden for a bit and forgot to set the timer.

They've been boiling for nearly an hour, pan almost dry.

If I use these for sandwiches tomorrow, will I end up really ill?!

    Cheers folks.

I can handle cosmetic abnormalities, possibly even a bit of mild sickness.

But if I poison my gf it'll only get held against me…

As long as they're not dog eggs you'll be fine.

Saw lots of dog eggs hanging around in plastic bags on this mornings ride.

Didn't feel the urge to pick any 😆

Yeah, as basspine says, you should have no worries with some well-built, solid German or Japanese eggs… now yer French or Italian eggs on the other hand…

How long does it take to boil an ostritch egg?

Yeah you'll be fine then, the grey colour of the yolks isn't appealing but won't do you any harm.

I'm curious what the yolk looks like – post a pic? Over boiling the yolks destroys some of the protein – a perfectly cooked yolk will have no greyness to it.

Yeah, they're a we're a bit grey round the edges of the yolk.
