Local cycling club runs time trials round the local forest weekly. They specifically ban ebikes as they are insured through British cycling and that insurance doesn’t cover ebikes.
I’m intrigued why in any legal sense ebikes are seen as different to normal bikes as I’m not aware anywhere else they are viewed differently. I ride an ebike and am a member of British cycling and don’t recall any specific differences.

I’m guessing that it’s difficult to guarantee the ebikes power output. 🤔
