Many of Rabs 2014 products use hydophobic down.

The Montane Extreme isn’t an insulating jacket it’s a very warm softshell
If you’re moving you’ll be hot but stand still for 15 mins aand you’ll probably get cold

Down coats are for keeping you warm when being inactive or for working/climbing in extreme cold. Most people on the High Street never use them for their intended purpose but they think they look great popping out to Sainsburys in it

Montane Prism is a great jacket but it’s not as warm as a duvet/down winter jacket. I got lucky with an Alpkit Filo for £80 last year – great for sitting around in freezing camping barns. My Prism is for autumn/spring/winter hill walks or biking emergencies.

If anyone is still interested, Blacks are doing the Montane Polestar* at 25% off for one week (that’s £150 instead of £200).

    * and several other winter jackets

I can’t wear down exercising, I’m just to hot.

I tend to wear it only on winter camps or standing around on cold evenings in Keswick 😉

PHD is wonderful, but RAB is affordable.

Just checked the link on my post and realised it goes to a Red Fang musci video. Oops! Sorry about that. It should have been this. Rab Infinty, £95 off!
