If you had the funds which 5″ travel carbon frame would you go for and why ? After some ideas so that I can save up….currently ride a cannondale rize 140mm which I like but want to lighten the frame now …I have upgraded other kit already not necessarily the lightest but I like it…Cheers and Looking forward to suggestions 😀

    Yeti. ASRC.

Ok it’s got an extra 1.5 inches than you’ve asked for but

    It climbs superbly.
    It descends superbly.
It’s single pivot and therefor simple

I’ve got one and love it.

It’s not that dreamy, but the Stumpy Evo is bloomin awesome in alu so I’d want to try that in string-and-glue.

A carbon frame doesn’t have to mean lighter weight, half a pound to a pound off its identical alloy counterpart.
Not really about weight, more about stiffness and damping really.

Santa Cruz Blur TRc because it’s a stupidly fun bike to ride.

If money IS an issue, have a look at the Titus FTM carbon frame from On-One. I would change the Shock though, as I’m not smitten with the Monarch RT3

An asr c is not 6.5 inches, its 5.

Trc or ltc really.as above carbon can be about stiffness not just weight

That must be true about the Blur LTc as mine is heavier than my old Epiphany and most parts were swapped between frames.

One inch less travel than you asked for but you’d seriously never know.

My LTc is a good bit lighter than my DW 5 spot with exactly the same build.

Titus ftm is near “carbon” copy of the blur trc geometry

The Titus with some way of slackening the head angle would be a steal.

the head angle on aper is steep – with 150mm forks its spot on

I’m interested in one of these, i emailed on one however and they said 140mm max fork and they don’t do a slackset for it. How have you found it with 150 forks Rob.

the bloke at on-one said it was fine (the carbon) with 150mm revs. Not broken in 6 months 🙂

Where abouts are you/do you ride out of interest. and whats the sizing like. I’m 5’11 and thinking medium?

Wors, I’m 181cm and a medium is perfect.

Rob, mine has a 140 Talas on it – does the step up to a 150 Rev make a big difference? I have a set on my C456 that I could swap over.

Looking at the numbers, they don’t seem the same. Size for size the FTM is longer, lower BB and over a full degree steeper. The medium FTM compares a bit more with the Large LTc but by no means a carbon copy.

Rocky Mountain Element 70 MSL for me

had a 575 before … loved it but too much travel for what I needed. The rocky climbs and decends better IMO … and it super light.
