Tillerson’s assessment of Trump seems to be spot on.

    <span style=”font-size: 0.8rem;”>https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trumps-national-security-advisers-warned-him-not-to-congratulate-putin-he-did-it-anyway/2018/03/20/22738ebc-2c68-11e8-8ad6-fbc50284fce8_story.html?utm_term=.c8f43855590e</span&gt;

Maybe they’ll need to review the ‘Do Not Push’ note on his big nuclear button.

So American politics continues to be largely playground-based, with Trump now saying he could definitely take Joe Biden in a fight and make him cry!

Biden was quoted, at an anti-sexual assault rally, as saying:

“A guy who ended up becoming our national leader said, ‘I can grab a woman anywhere and she likes it..

“They asked me if I’d like to debate this gentleman, and I said no. I said if we were in high school, I’d take him behind the gym and beat the hell out of him.'”

To which Trump’s modern day presidential response, with all the dignity and gravitas befitting his office, was:

I love the “go down fast and hard, crying” line.

    Whats in Stormy Daniels?

More from the Donald making sure his base are clearly identified by removing anyone who was wavering a bit, he will be left with all the really really mad ones

Donnie’s a real tough guy – between tackling shooters unarmed, and flooring elderly former vice presidents (who should know better)  🙂

Could we seeTrump try & fire Meuller over Easter?

    Can he do that ?

In theory I think he can but both the Republicans and Democrats consider it a very unwise move.

A bit of searching because, you know, I’m not a top US lawyer. From vox.com

Mueller was appointed under a Justice Department regulation that sets restrictions on just how and why he can be fired.
<p id=”iKdZW3″>The how, in this case, is by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein (since his boss Jeff Sessions recused himself). Rosenstein appointed Mueller, and according to the regulation, he’s the only person who can fire him.</p>
<p id=”ESv0kU”>Then there’s the why, which is also very important here. The regulation states that a special counsel can’t be fired on a whim. Instead, it says, he or she can only be fired for “misconduct, dereliction of duty, incapacity, conflict of interest, or for other good cause.”</p>

The stuff I have listened to comes up with it would take a determined hour or so to do it, he would have to get rid of Rosenstein and then keep firing until somebody would get rid of Muller. Other way is to fire Sessions and replace him as AG with a yes man – most likely Pruitt but and it’s a big but there the new AG would need a confirmation hearing which needs Democrat votes to get through and would be very much tied to a vote protecting Muller.

The other line of thinking is taking the heat for firing Muller now is better than the implication of him facing any charges not as president. It was suggested that if he was to do something he needs to do it now to allow the Reps to recover somehow (impeachment) before November

Yesterday I met someone who works at one of Trump’s lovely Scottish resorts. When Mr T would visit (back before he had to pretend he’d severed all ties with the Trump Org.) there were standing orders to staff that ‘if anyone tries to have a go at the Donald your job is to form a human shield’

We’re not talking about someone working in Close Protection. She’s a cleaner.

I have to say. After a year of Trump, and this thread, I’m better qualified for a job in the HR dept of the Whitehouse than I was after the last 47 years-worth of observing presidents from 3246 miles away.

The trouble is The Donald has no adult supervision, so can get away with whatever he wants, especially as he’s been gifted the power to fire any adults selected to supervise him if he can’t get his way.

the implication of him facing any charges not as president

I’ve wondered about that.  It does feel like various parties are sitting on a ton of allegations and evidence, waiting for the best time to reveal it.  Everything Trump has ever done is been under a huge microscope for the last 18 months (and more)….. and this is DONALD TRUMP – a property developer in NY city in the 1980s.

It really doesn’t feel like the Dem’s are putting together a concerted effort to unseat him – maybe they are applying the old adage of “never interrupt your enemy whilst they are making a mistake”?  Or maybe they just couldn’t find their arse with both hands?

Well they do say a high staff turnover is indicative of a bad manager. It seems like there’s a few senior people jumping ship or being sacked every week.

You can’t score if you don’t have the ball. They don’t have enough votes unless the mid terms take a big swing (like the 20pt swing last week) best they can hope for is 2 years of pence with no majority. Can it happen?

The sheer level of panic and attacks on the judiciary say he is very worried, lots of people know what has gone down you can’t pay them all off.

    Japanese stocks down four percent.

Trump’s hard-talk may end up crashing the stock market…or he could get the concessions he wants. He certainly likes to gamble. But this could be a gamble too far.

it’s getting pathetic now this media hounding. must be a year now , i’m sick of this crap in the news daily, on par with brexit talk.what relevance does a woman that had an affair with an old man got to do with anything? Then you have these stupid snl sketches showing up on youtube which are just plain cringey and embarrassing. Has nobody got anything going on with their lives that they watch these jimmy (insert surname) shows just to see what trump diss they can give.

@rmacattack – I wonder if it’s a harking back to the day when politicians were characters rather than corporate yes (wo)men? In the 1970s there were the likes of Wilson, Heath, Healey  and in the 1980s the Thatcher and shadow cabinets. Today there’s really only Boris Johnson with his amiable buffoon persona and perhaps Jacob Rees-Mogg (not forgetting Dennis Skinner!) who stand out.

The fact that Trump makes no bones about lying (see the comments about his talks with Trudeau) but is also a narcissistic petulant bully who just happens to hold the most powerful political job in the western world is manna from heaven for the chattering classes.

As Henry Kissinger noted, power is the ultimate aphrodisiac. JFK, perhaps the POTUS most revered in recent times, didn’t exactly play at home all the time.

It would get you a fail on a lot of security clearance tests if you were still keeping it a secret.

A lot of Christian right wingers don’t approve of affairs

You end up with a leader with no moral authority, who is a laughing stock.

The bigger issue is he has failed to achieve anything significant  his budget plans got scuppered this week too

Because literally none of those things have ever taken place in Washington before… it’s even amusing that you are referring to “sex scandals” based on something he’s alleged to have done years before he was President, given Clinton, JFK and LBJ’s philandering while in office (and THE office…)

The bigger issue is he has failed to achieve anything significant

I note youve tried this one for some time, without ever defining what “significant” means.

Stuff that hasn’t happened – record turnover of staff in the whitehouse, whats the record for affairs and sexual harassment allegations (oh and for irony the precedent for the current harassment case was due to the case against Bill Clinton as lead by Kelly Ann Conways husband), his ignoring of advice from people who actually know what they are doing etc.

    Border Wall? Nope

Immigration Controls? slashed and crippled and in court

Tax Reform? Just, though spending cuts were rejected in the current spending bill to avoid a shut down

    Affordable Care? Still there

What has he actually delivered ninfan? What bits of policy is he winning at?

I notice you have no real answers as usual.

Do you really want to use Clinton as an example? I cant see the rabid right crying for investigations like they did for Clinton. Its odd how the moral majority are quite flexible with their morals isnt it?

It really is odd how all these outstanding Christians are still standing behind him and not condemning him for adultery etc.

Yep, Trump is the kid who does the exact opposite of what he is told to do, he isn’t playing politics he is playing look at me. Yes we are all looking, some are looking quite closely, I believe Miss Storm in his Pants is airing her interview shortly, should make for good viewing, who is hoping there is a birth mark?

Unfortunatly like the UK all this sham is doing is holding back progress and stagnating things, it’s not going to be good in the long term.

I guess it’s also taking ninfan a little while to compile the list of Trumps achievments as opposed to the top 10 tweets

Wow that top 10 from the hill is awesome, be nasty to cuba, make a stupid mistake in Israel, pull out of something (yep the only thing he has got into is women who are not his wife), his immigration plans are in the court etc.

And yes today screwed up a bipartisan budget deal.
