Being a new business you’ll probably be putting everything back into the business, which is generally a good policy.
However it can all get a bit stale if you do that, so also have a policy of rewarding yourself when you do a good deal (and have banked the money!). Doesn’t need to be anything big, along the lines of “If I pull this off, then I’ll get myself this”.

I only have two pieces of advice:
Be scrupulously honest and straight up with your clients (sometimes this means you have to take a hit on a job).
Keep your head down and work hard at the beginning (you’ll be surprised how “lucky” you get when you work hard).Posted 7 years ago
