Are all rotors for all brands of brake the same width? I need a new Hope rotor – so would I be ok using other brands?

    Any advice welcome.

    Thanks,

Theres no reason they need to be the same width, but im fairly sure they are so close it doesnt matter anyway, apart from some of the double-skin ones maybe. They all appear to be around teh 1mm mark. Assuming the manufacturer hasnt made it so new pads leave only a fraction extra on the disc thickness (which I doubt) then you should be fine. Certainly my hopes work fine with magura rotors and vice versa.

More like 2mm thick, but I’m using Hope disc’s with XTR calipers without any problems.

A review on CRC says avids are 1.7mm and hopes 1.8mm, so it looks like I could use avids.

    Thanks for above advice
