I’m looking a treating myself to a digital sub and was wondering how it works? Sounds daft I know but… Does the mag get downloaded and then saved onto my PC or am I reading it off a server somewhere? I’m currently somewhere hot and sandy and access to a fast internet connection with unlimited data allowance is impossible. If I can save a downloaded issue to my laptop I can download it overnight and read it whenever. If it’s streamed to my laptop when I want to read it I’ll be waiting ages for each page to load up. I hope this mikes sense, I know I’m being a biff!

I download mine as a pdf. They can then be read offline. Storing them on a memory stick is useful, also, because then you can take them with you and read them on whatever is available.

EDIT: you can also download back copies too – which is nice 8)

You have a choice of low or high quality pdf to download (15mb and 38mb this month) you can also use the flash based flip page reader. If you need a really small file size then the epub or kindle versions have the wordier articles in.
