Sort of hooning down the other side of Jacob’s (west) with a-bit-to-flat 2.25 ‘Fat Albert’ (bit of a ‘skinny latte’ by today’s standards) when I felt the inevitable rubber-muted rock on rim sound.
“Ha”, I said. Confident in the knowledge that Stan’s would ‘seal the day’! No, the ‘bite’ was actually an odd failure right at the foot of one of the knobbles: I’ve had similar sized holes seal up, and this one did to be fair but with the bike loaded the knobble simply pushed back re-opening the leak.
This has got me a-thinkin! Mate way back said that I should forget the old skool rear bouncer (with equally old rake angle) in favour of a mahoossive rear tyre on a Cotic, Ragley etc….that this is the way forward for hooning.
Yay or Nay?
