Yawn, I need a desk pad for full size keyboard, mouse etc. to use on a glass topped desk.

Can anyone recommend one they use?
    Thanks

PS – do I win dullest thread of the day?

PPS – I already have a Dennis the Menace coaster for my coffee

If you look at some PC gaming stuff, they do a lot of over-large ‘mouse pads’ that accommodate a mouse and a keyboard. Can’t recommend myself but I have a steel series mouse pad and it’s probably 10 years old, looking a bit worn now but it’s lasted, and other than looking a bit faded after hand washing it intermittently, it works fine, so I’d probably go with a flexible fabric topped one with a rubber backing.

Plenty of big ‘uns here: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/search?sSearch=mouse+mat

How about something like an A3 artists sketch pad? Plenty of space for scribbling notes, phone numbers, email addresses, and when the top sheet gets scruffy, tear it off and start afresh. When I worked in print, the company made up A3 and A4 desk pads for promotion, so there were always loads about, and they were perfect for putting my keyboard and mouse on, and general scribbles.
Something like this, although they do lots of different options…

I have an AUKEY one from amazon, 900x400x 4mm thick that has lasted well, and stays put on my wooden desk. its 20 quid but the cheaper ones are thinner and 4mm feels good to me

Watching with interest. After ~ten years of mouse use my (Ikea Laminated Crapboard™) desk has a literal crater where the heel of my hand sits and the mouse area is worn shiny.

same 😂 but after years of using a “regular” mouse & no pad, I recently got a (free, otherwise I probably would never have tried one!) professional mouse (3Dconnexion CAD mouse) along with their proper mouse mat. Oh my god. The difference is night and day!

I think I’d be tempted by this:
    https://www.overclockers.co.uk/steelseries-qck-xxl-mouse-pad-67500-gs-056-st.html

As its basically a 90cm long version of the normal size mouse mat I already have, and doesn’t look too garish 🙂

Actually, scrap that, this one doesn’t have a logo and bigger:

Just stick desk mat on Amazon. Loads of different designs. 900 x 400 is a popular size and plenty big enough.

Slightly left of topic, but for a standard mousemat, this has been a revelation (yes, I’m probably
a million years behind on this one). Makes a world of difference to using a mouse if you ever get aching wrists

Charlie, are you listening? Must be about 15 years old, about time the shop merch got updated with a new bar runner!
